Rutherglen Glencairn Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Rutherglen, (in the South Lanarkshire local authority area, but part of the Glasgow conurbation). Nicknamed The Glens and formed in 1896, they play at The Clyde Gateway Stadium (also known as New Southcroft Park), after the original Southcroft Park was demolished in 2007 to make way for the M74 motorway extension. The original ground had survived for 110 years and was the oldest junior football ground in Scotland when it closed.
In August 2009, Rutherglen Glencairn Football Club signed a lucrative sponsorship deal with local urban regeneration company Clyde Gateway to sponsor New Southcroft Park for a two-year period. As a result, the club's home ground was renamed as The Clyde Gateway Stadium for two seasons.
Glencairn's most recent trophy successes whave been winning the Stagecoach Central District League Division One championship in season 2008–09, followed by winning the Stagecoach West Region Super League Division One title in season 2009-10, meaning The Glens will compete in the West Region Super Premier League for the first time in season 2010-11. At the end of the 2010-11 season co-managers Willie Patterson and Scott Smith left the club, they had been in charge since October 2005.
Glencairn are currently managed by Willie Harvey alongside coaches Robert Torrance and Joe Pryce, who have been in charge since June 2010.
Currently competing in the West Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association, the Glens wear black and white vertically striped strips (uniforms).

Soon after the end of season 2009/2010, Glencairn's co-mangers resigned to take up a new managerial position elsewhere, a number of players from the season 2009/2010 Glencairn Championship winning team followed the manangers to their next club.
Following the appointment of manager Willie Harvey prior to the 2010/2011 Super Premier League Season, Rutherglen Glencairn youth teams were established at the club consisting of an under 21 and under 19 squad. Youth team manager Alex McArthur controls the teams in local competitive leagues with the under 21 team competing in the West of Scotland Under 21 League Division One and the under 19 team competing in the Cumbernauld & Kilsyth District League. Glencairn manager Willie Harvey highlighted the importance of establishing youth development and stated, “Every now and again you find a real gem. Somewhere down the line you will find someone who can have a good, strong career. We want to be the side that clubs are trying to poach players from but at the same time we will have first dibs on the best players coming through."
